After the modest 1.2% fall in Alsace wine exports in 2009,
figures released today from French customs and excise show that
Alsace wines have started to recover.
Despite the recession and the strength of the Euro, exports of
Alsace wines to the UK increased by 32.3% year on year in the first
5 months of 2010, and 3.8% worldwide.
The news comes just weeks after Rémy Gresser was
confirmed as president of CIVA, the trade body which promotes
Alsace wines.
